"iRATE radio is a collaborative filtering client/server mp3 player/downloader. The iRATE server has a large database of music. You rate the tracks and it uses your ratings and other peoples to guess what you'll like. The tracks are downloaded from websites which allow free and legal downloads of their music." I just downloaded it and have been messing with it a bit. Since its all free and legal downloading, you can bet cher paws that it will be indie music, but once you start rating enough music so it can associate you with particular genres, it can quite possibly open you up to some new music.
The new ipod, the new ipod. Everyone is talking about the 40 gig ipod. What I find far more interesting (and stupid) is that Apple doesnt redirect apple.com/iPod to apple.com/ipod, even though it is spelled "iPod" on the website. Enough people are linking the wrong address (the one with the capital P) that its even found its way on the blogosphere.us trend list.
Am I the only one who misses Zeldman's Orange Theme?
Time for my Intro to Unix class, gotta jet.

Legal music? How exciting! So many people are getting sued now because of the music they download. They have hit a few people with over 1000 mp3s on their computer, and I guess they will be working their way down. We were talking about this in my american cultures class, it's pretty interesting to say the least.
