I met Cory in the beginning of last spring. A few months later I met his really good chick friend from highschool, Tanya. She was cute, so I was nice to her (see how my mind works?). I always got a vibe from her that she really didn't like me. Not the like, date kinda like, but that she didn't appreciate my company very much. We were always civil to each other but I could just tell. Well things eventually blew up. Completely. I borrowed a dvd (The Crow) from her in Sept before I went to San Diego (take note). Cory posted about going to a party Tanya was throwing for their dog that was turning a year old. Tanya made a comment about how I need to get to work and finish breasts4.us, and said someting about me being short (which she loves to tease about). I made a cute (well atleast I thought so) comment about how she should stop throwing her dog bday parties and get a life. I honestly didn't mean it in a cruel way, but comon', who throws their dogs parties? Well she responded and I responded etc etc etc (im paraphrasing because Cory, most understandably, deleted all of our comment war). I called her a bitch because I felt like she was being cruel and personally attacking me. She slagged me for resorting to profanity, I eloquently responded but resolved that bitch best fit the situation. Then I (yes, this may have been my mistake) said well atleast I didn't call you a cunt. I honestly meant that for face value. Atleast I didnt. Meaning I did not. Ack, I hate that word and have never called anyone that, and still have not. Well she took it as yes I did call her one (im assuming) because she got really pissed and demanded her DVD I had borrowed back by 5pm the next day or there would be trouble. I laughed and told her she could come pick it up whenever she wanted, but that I wouldn't make an emergency trip just because she got pissed. Well 4:15 the next day the cops call me asking about a dvd i have. They tell me to make sure she gets it back in the next few days, and I said no prob. I was going to give it to Cory next time I see him. Then the next morning at 10am-ish, I was awoken by the bored, bored, sad, and pathetic police officer inquiring about the dvd and that Tanya was at the police station right now and needed it. NOW. I'm still half asleep but I refuse to go down to the police station, and suggest they come pick it up here. He asks my address but I tell him to just meet me in the commons because at this point I'm highly doubting that a real cop would waste his time on such nonsense. Thomas comes with me that morning, because he wanted to see the scallywag that called the cops on a dvd that was waiting to be willfully returned. They come in, she stands back, I hold the DVD up and the cop, who is her bitch by this point, comes and fetches it. I'm content that the situation is resolved and am ready to leave. The cop starts trying to lecture me on how wrong it was and how I've emotionally damaged this girl for not returning her dvd as soon as she threw a fit. I tell him that we have no more business, everything is resolved and that I'm leaving. He runs after me, yells that hes a police officer, and that I can't walk away from him. I laugh, and stop. He asks if he can read me something. I'm like sure dude, so we sit down and he plays like he's going to read me my rights. He starts on the moral lecture of how I was wrong again. He also repeatedly says that hes a police officer, over and over and over. I say, "Dude I believe you, youre a cop, i can see your uniform, good for you." I ask him if he knows the whole situation, he is not interested. I let him get over his shpiel, and then tell me how fortunate I am that she got it back because I could have been arrested. FOR A DVD. She smiles, they leave, I laugh. The funny thing is I felt like I had 'won' because they had to come fetch the dvd. She would've gotten it in a few days through Cory, but throwing a fit because I called her a bitch, does not warrant me makign a special trip to return her film. I actually really wasn't going to discuss this whole event publically but I ran into her livejournal entry about the event (and right after) and thought itd be interesting to provide both sides of the story. Are they biased? Oh sure, I don't doubt both of our stories has our own personal slant to it, but atleast you can generally understand what went on. I found it funny that both of us thought we 'won'. Who really won? She did. Why? Because since this event has happened I haven't hung out with Cory. Cory is one of the coolest people I have ever met, and is probably my best friend at school. They hang out all the time now. Am I whining? Perhaps. Is it lame to be slightly envious? Perhaps. Do I wish that she never mistakenly thought I called her a cunt, or that she gave me a fair chance as friends before all this even went down and we could all get along and Cory wouldn't have been forced to choose her? Sure. Do I understand why she thinks I'm the most immature, social-skill lacking, sexually confused person she makes me out to be? No. Did I tell Cory that I stopped reading his website becuase every other entry talks about Tanya and I can't take it? Yes. Did I say I would create a program that will edit out pictures of her so I can view Cory's website? lol, not quite. I told Cory to replace his rss feed template with one of mine. Am I nervous when you insinuate that both you and Cory talk poorly about me, despite us being business partners? Sure.
