Orkut is Google's new friendster-esque social networking site. Though I've never used Friendster (though signed up for it just to get past the main page) this is basically the same thing but with Karma points. Well, that and apparently its way l33t. It's invite only, so you have to know somebody on the inside to get in, or in my case Chir.ag
I haven't decided whether I'm a fan of this social networking mumbo jumbo but I guess it's time to give it a try. I'm just worried that it will cause a proliferation (as if it hasn't already) of too many unmanageable networks. It would be cool to meet some new people with similar interests, and if nothing else the ego boost of having *lots* of friends :P
On the design side of things, it makes really good use of css/js with all the show/hide help divs. I think its mighty user friendly, but the photochopped embossed logo could definitely go.
ps. Wish me luck on my finance exam tonight, I'm going to need it :X
