I should be grateful that Modest Mouse played an unproportionate amount of Florida shows, because otherwise I probably wouldn't have had a chance to see them (they all sold out. And I am. Really. They put on one hell of a show, even coming back for another set.
What irks me is the rest of the bands who have forgotten about the freakin' state of Florida. How about Bright Eyes, Broken Social Scene, Blink 182 / No Doubt Tour, The Pixies, Deathcab for Cutie, etc etc. And to get even more whiney, the bands that do come to Fl *never* come to Gainesville. Never. Tallahassee, Orlando, Jacksonville. Never Gainesville, a freakin' college town supposedly thriving to the extent that it has its own music website gainesvillebands.com.
And the one local band I actually really, really like, Kitchens of Soul, hardly ever put on shows. Dammit, I wish I was in Chicago still...

Well if it makes you feel any better, they all are skipping over Colorado too. I was totally planning on going to Blink 182/No Doubt one too. Oh well fuck them, I've seen them both before.
