Summer session for my senior year of college started today. It is amazing how fast college goes (much like high school) and how far I've come with perspectives, relationships, and interests.
Classes last only 5 short weeks, so its not so shabby. I'm taking Music Literature, which fulfills Humanities, International and 6000 words for Gordon Rule. In case you are fortunate enough not to go to college in Florida, I will briefly explain the plague which is Gordon Rule. Some senator in Florida a few years ago didn't think Florida colleges were doing a sufficient job in teaching the leaders of tomorrow how to write, so he passed this rule that says that each graduate from a state college must complete 24,000 words by graduation. I have 20,000 already, so fortunately this will be my last intensive writing class. Two 12 page papers will be enough to last me the rest of the year, believe you me.
Music Lit will teach me the finer points of listening to classical music, identifying the time period and composer and being able to pay attention to detail and pick apart movements. My dads quite good at that, and I'm looking forward to becoming a bit more knowledgeable .
I was going to take Stress and Anxiety Management, which my friend told me was quite easy, and seemed to be, but I decided to drop it and take Wildlife Issues with my roommate Thomas instead because its a closer walk. I like to think of it as an act in efficiency rather than laziness.
Compared to my dorm the past 3 years, I am staying in the Hilton of dorms. It is only 1 year old, everything is nice, new, and clean, and it even has air conditioning! The best part is probably that there are girls on my floor (my old dorm was all guys). Just fantabulous.
