Don't Touch Me

I am listening to the rockin' New Pornographers song "Breakin' The Law" and one of the lyrics got me thinking.

"Don't Touch Me" has got to be the worst thing I could ever hear from somebody's lips. When you think about it, "I hate you", "Don't ever talk to me again" etc are pretty awful, sure, but D.T.M. is far worse. If somebody tells you that, it implies that you are right next to them, and that you are trying to touch them. This in turn implies that you must think they like you (friend or otherwise). It is a much greater 'shell shock' then somebody just telling you to fuck off in my opinion.

Anyway, go listen to the song, I give it 5 stars.
