Blog Assessment & More

I like taking photographs, talking about and sharing music, and complaining. Now I just need to figure out how to wrap that into one, and make a blog thats really noteworthy. I also really enjoy making lists of things. There's gotta be a business plan buried in there somewhere.

I was catching up on a buncha peoples lifes today thru livejournal (xanga et al) and I think I'm actually jealous. I wish I could write in mysterious one liners and quick witted observations about life. I really think I'm too wordy for that. But I'll try anyway...

"There is a face in my soup and a girl with fur covered ankles.
It was also cold today."

How's that for a ljay entry? Maybe it's not as hard as I thought.

On another note, things that I'm thinking about include:
* Hipnite version 2, its just my resume site, but more polished.
* Using blogtorrent to make my own weekly/monthly mixes?
* Wishing we were using MovableType at work for the news site

Things that I still need:
* a real relationship, i am so weary of meaningless stuff
* a few hundred dollars to go to SXSW with, while still paying off my desktop
* my paypal account to be unlocked (dont even get me started)

Things I need to remember:
* mailing Priscilla's present tomorrow
* mailing that check to that lady
* nothing is forever

I am such a girl for saying this, but back in highschool I used to get tons of notes from my girlfriend(s) during passing periods in the hallway. I was reading some during xmas break while I was cleaning shit out (and throwing stuff away, which i love!) and it made me really yearn for stupid notes. I want a college girl to pass me a note, thatd be hot.

Oh yeah, this girl I haven't spoken to in 6 years imed me today. That made me smile. I also had to do a monologue for my acting class today. I did the choose life monologue, memorized. It went over o-kay. Just okay. Haha I did a spoof on it awhile back. Although I guess it wasn't a funny spoof.

I should make another category, because I never know where to file these random entries. I guess 'other' works.

Hmm.. maybe you could take photos of live bands and write commentaries about them in your blog whilst ranting about their shortcomings in list form :-)

fur-covered ankles? :-S Please say she was wearing faux fur boots or somethin' lol

Sorry about the relationship thing.. I'm sure it'll work out eventually.

As far as SXSW, you know I live here in Austin so if you need anything (like reserving passes or recommending places to go) just let me know. I'm not sure what your housing situation was going to be, but I'm pretty sure if you ask Danny (he lives here too) he'd probably be willing to let you crash at his place.

I know what you mean about notes from high school.. I used to write them all the time to my friends and I kept some of them. It's fun to go back to those days through a scribbled note written on neatly folded paper. I remember when it was more about the way the note was folded than what was actually written on the paper for a while.. Couldn't that be likened to artists selling out? Hmm..

On my page, I have a "Thoughts" category, which I pretty much just put whatever doesn't fit in the other categories. Usually it works, and it's not as bland as "Other." But you're welcome to do whatever you want.. "Other" entries will still be read and equally as interesting :-)

Oh yeah, Vince and George also live here, so you could ask them for a place to stay also and I'm sure they'd be happy to visit.

"I used to get notes .. on Valentine's Day only ... from my mother." How's that for a one-liner for a blog?

If I were to do a monologue, I'd do the one from this play:

http://www.reelclassics.com/Actors/O'Toole/otoole2.htm

Where it starts:

"'Life as it is.' I have lived for over forty years and I've seen 'life as it is'. Pain. Misery. Cruelty beyond belief."

Everytime I hear that part, I get chills and goosebumps.

I think being honest is more worth while in the blogging community that witty banter. It's the honesty that people want in such a disconnected world. Your writing style is honest and shows great personality which is awesome. Keep up the great blogging! :)
