Man Man is playing Tallahassee at Club Down Under which is apparently even on campus at FSU, while I am going to be out of town @ SXSW. Grrrrreat. Just add it to the list of bands that don't come to Gainesville, let alone ON CAMPUS. Orlando gets better acts because thats a big city, I can understand that. But really. Tallahassee? Have you been there? Gainesville's performer draw power sucks. Please don't tell me we have a 'great music scene' until we start getting better shows than FSU.
Now that is a little biased, I suppose. Gainesville gets some 'great' bands. I mean this month alone we have Edwin McCain, Elton John, and Reel Big Fish coming. Hell, last month Snoop played. Maybe it's not that we don't have enough money to bring in good shows but that we spend it on horrible performers. Or maybe Gainesville's music taste sucks. Or maybe mine does. It's like a vortex that I can't get out of.
