Some people said save it. Some people said put it towards a new car. Some people said spend it all on hookers and booze in Vegas.
I decided to spend all my graduation money on a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I have had a budding interest in photography that was originally fueled by Project 365. Throughout 2004, while taking photographs every. single. day. I learned the ins and outs of composition, lighting, angles and the limitations (and how to exploit them) of my Kodak 2.1mp LS420. Unfortunately I lacked any manual controls besides whether to turn the flash off. There were a decent amount of times I could feel the limitations and wished for more manual controls.
So I got a bit carried away, and invested in a camera that I can grow into, and won't need to replace anytime soon. I'm excited about learning all about apertures, f-stops, shutter speeds and the other 100 photo lingo terms I have no clue about. I'm sure my uncle is looking forward to many-a-tech support calls :)
I tweaked out Poke a bit nicer (for my nicer images!) with sIFR goodness and all. It has also been updated with the first crop of pics. I've already taken over 300 since Friday!

well congrats for graduating dude......i shall remove my vail and expose myself......you once had a room mate in sledd hall during summer b term, jorge, i am his friend, he never took a liking to u so we exploited u're website for that reason alone. i have however been following u're website since (as i'm sure u've checked u're ip's). kudo's on version 3, very nice and clean interface.
as for photography, "f-stops, aperture and shutter speed" u will soon learn that u named almost 3 of the same things (as how closely they are related to each other), if u want a leg up on the technical aspects of photography, check out ansel adams guide, entitled the camera, the negative, and the print (they're 3 seperate books).
here's my "portfolio-esque" site, homepage.mac.com/raafhimself if u want any pointers on photography email me at raafhimself@mac.com
