Everyone should go get a free credit report from https://www.annualcreditreport.com. You get one from each of the 3 major providers, per year, so I would space it out every 4 months as a free way to monitor everything. I started with Experian and I have one possible negative (Chiropractor that thinks I owe them $) and 13 accounts in good standing. Thats decent I suppose, but check this out:
The Social Security number that you gave us when you contacted us shows that credit was established before the number was issued.
What can I say? I've been managing money since I was in the womb. Start out on a 2 bottle milk credit line and slowly worked my way up.
It's actually because a few of those accounts are actually my dads because we have the same first and last names (even though our middle names are different), but still pretty damn funny.

Have you ever seen a commercial for Freecreditreport.com? I haven't tried it out, but I'll never forget the jingle they came up with. Ever. I don't even mind that it's been lodged deep in my subconscious -- it's that good.
