correction - some of the best COMMERCIAL hip-hop out these days. there are quality, mediocre and shit artists in everything (above and under ground). dig deeper.
kanye west's strengths are in his risks (working with jon brion, collaborating with both jay-z and nas). his production outweighs his vocal delivery, IMO, but even still there are more exciting, innovative knob-twisters and button-pushers out there.

I really liked this album for awhile but it's novelty has mostly worn off (and replaced by the artist Why?). Definitely some of the best hiphop out these days imo, I'm just not a huge hiphop fan in general. Standout tracks are Hey Mama and Gold Digger.
