Gmail Map This

Example of Gmails Map This Just when I was bitter at Gmail for touting a Delete button as a New Feature, they redeem themselves with this bit that I hadn't noticed before. If somebody emails you an address they provide an easy link to Map It. Cool!

I was thinking earlier today that I think it would be cool if Google Maps had a weather overlay. You can check out, say, a city-wide view--and then click on a button to get a semi-transparent view of any rain coverage, etc. Sure, it would be current data placed over old photos--but I think it would hold up somewhat well.

Awesome idea, though I wonder if weather information that concise exists. Like when its raining, the weather channel just puts a rain cloud over all of Gainesville, even if its not raining in all of Gainesville.

How about we find a way to juxtapose weather radar over google maps?

Not exactly what we were talking about, but this is a googlemaps + weather mashup:

In WeatherBonk, you can overlay real-time radar info (or cloud/fog info in the bay area) with the Overlay dropdown on the right side of the page.
