Notable interactions:

  • The Dell Sucks Dude open letter in May 2002.
Result: None as far as I know.
  • Raging Cow in March 2003.
Result: One of the first companies to leverage the blogosphere for product promotion, it was highly protested as corruption of the authenticity of blogs. Beverage was never wideley released.
  • iPod's Dirty Secret in November 2003.
Result: Soon after Apple began offerring a battery replacement program for the ipod for a fee of $99 and an extended warranty for the ipod for $59, though Apple doesn't admit this being the reason.
  • The Bic Pen / Kryptonite Lock debacle in September 2004.
Result: Kryptonite provided free product upgrades. For future models they replaced the vulnerable tubular cylinder series with ones using disk-style cylinders instead.
  • The Captain Morgan Blog outrage in March 2005.
Result: The blog was taken down.
