Yesterday was an absurdly (that's Scott's word) good day, so I'm writing this as a reminder of a good memory.
I slept in till 10am and got my day started. Headed over to Kaela's for lunch (green beans, garden burgers and celery/pb). Checked my email and found out Podbop had been approved to cover CMJ Marathon in NYC next month. I'll be covering the weeklong festival with all kinds of reviews and interviews. Went to campus and did some Gawker work in the Target Copy coffee shop.
Mark hooked me up with two tickets to The End of Cinematics, so we headed to the Performing Arts Center at 7:30pm. It was one of the most visually stimulating things I've ever seen. The music sucked but the eye candy made up for it. Then we headed to The Gelato Company for a quick dinner. Their sandwiches are always delicious and their gelato is the best ice-cream I've ever had.
After we met up with Al, we headed to Common Grounds to see Electric President (who put out one of my favorite albums of 2006). They opened, which was awesome because most people don't show up till later, so the place was relatively smoke free and had enough room to breathe (it was really bad at the Xiu Xiu show last week). Stuck around for awhile afterwards and caught up with Cory. He spent a few months this summer in Berlin and we talked about all of us going back next summer. I am *so* down.
Drove home and walked in to find my roommate Thomas giggling. Went into my room to see, where my 17" monitor used to be, a he-gan-tay twenty-four inch widescreen Dell in it's place. He had unpacked it for me and everything (I think he just got impatient to see it, since I wasn't home all day). It was a sort of 'signing bonus' with Gawker. THANK YOU! After calming down, Kaela and I caught this week's episode of Lost (yay DVR). Am I the only one that thinks Sun is a horrible, spoiled wife? I don't think she should have to agree with everything Jin says but she's still selfish.
Unfortunately I ended the night with a headache and stomachache which I could only place on the fact that I, perhaps, had consumed too much caffiene that day (ice tea, diet-coke, coffee). Back to water and lemon!
Overalll, I would say yesterday ranked a 9/10 on the Taylor Good Day Scale ©
